Turn Your Ring Camera into a Powerful Outdoor Floodlight Camera

2 comments by Derek Share

According to the crime data published by the FBI, there were 7.2 million property crime cases in the US in 2018 alone. Intruders often prefer targeting homes at night because it is less likely that they will be caught. Possible break-in threats can sometimes cause enough anxiety to prevent someone from getting a good night’s sleep. To prevent break-ins, it is, therefore, necessary to improve home security with security devices.

One of the necessary security devices is a reliable security camera. Outdoor security cameras often use motion detection and night vision to determine when to begin recording. When the PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor detects any movement, the camera starts recording. But most of the encountered problems in these security cameras are the blurry recordings taken when night vision applies.

One of the ways to counter this problem is to add a floodlight to the camera. Light is one of the biggest deterrents for an outdoor crime. It intimidates intruders knowing that they are more likely to be caught when they are standing in the presence of a bright floodlight. Adding a floodlight to the security camera will enhance your camera’s vision in low light conditions.

One of the promising floodlights out there is the Wasserstein 3-in-1 Floodlight, Charger, and Mount Compatible with Ring Stick Up Cam Battery & Ring Spotlight Cam Battery. This is an ideal solution to enhance your Ring camera’s vision in low light conditions and it comes with a built-in charger, designed to continuously charge your Ring Stick Up/Spotlight Cam Battery. Your outdoor surveillance camera will remain powered day and night without troublesome battery changes.

The Wasserstein 3-in-1 Floodlight is one of the most affordable floodlights in the market as seen in the comparison table below. The Wasserstein Floodlight and Ring Stick Up Cam bundle retails at $134.99, much cheaper when compared to the Ring Stick Up Cam and Ring Smart Floodlight bundle at $169.99 and the Ring Floodlight Camera at $249.99. Placement for optimum security

Here are some important tips for installing our 3-in-1 Floodlight Charger and Mount.

  • Assess where intruders are most likely to enter and the path they would take. Most intruders enter homes through a back door, patio door, or garage door. Therefore, it is advisable to place the floodlight near entrances to your home.
  • Mount the floodlight on walls that an intruder would walk alongside, such as a narrow pathway. The motion sensor works best when movements are detected parallel to the floodlight, not towards it.
  • Although the floodlight is weatherproof, it is advisable to mount it on a wall shaded from the rain and sunlight to maximize its battery life.

To sum it up, having a powerful floodlight such as the Wasserstein 3-in-1 Floodlight, Charger, and Mount along with a reliable outdoor security camera such as the Ring Stick Up Cam/Spotlight Cam will enhance the security of your home.

Two questions: Can you either send drawing or the dimensions of the mounting plates (wall mounting) for both the twin flood for Arlo Pro2 and the battery powered 400 lumen standalone LCD lamps. How many D cells does the later take?
Not certain of under eave space for mounting and want to avoid disappointment with placements we have in mind.
    THANK YOU.
